Women in STEM
The Women in STEM Initiative is a commitment by American River College to better support women in the STEM fields.
Our goal is to encourage women and femme-aligned people to pursue STEM degrees. We will be doing our best to offer a space where students can connect with each other, learn something new, and enjoy their time in college. The STEM field can be discriminatory towards women, so having a safe-space where everyone can share their experience will surely motivate and empower women to overcome obstacles and prejudices they could encounter while pursuing their future career.
Throughout 2024-2025 we hope to: successfully prepare and host our annual Spooktacular Soiree festival and other events, hold a Women in STEM panel, go on different field trips to either laboratories or science centers, and last but not least, have a fun and productive year full of science!
