Liza Lipscomb, She/Her/ Hers
Clerk III, TRIO ETS
I have held various temporary positions within American River College since 2016. But did not start working permanently for TRIO ETS until October of last year. I am a Sac State alumna with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I will be pursuing a master’s degree in Human Resources soon.
As for what drives me, I get the most fulfillment out of helping others. Also, knowing that everyone is working toward a common goal is the best part of this job. And that is, to provide help and encouragement to students who would not otherwise pursue higher education. There is nothing more fulfilling than that.
Sarah Williams Kingsley, She/Her/Hers
Student Personnel Assistant
I am new to the American River College TRIO ETS team. I hope to help our team communicate with our students, families, and community in a robust way that builds connection. I relocated to Sacramento from the Bay Area in 2017 with my husband and son. Before joining the team, I was active in efforts to improve outcomes for students with disabilities in our local schools.

I have been working with ETS for one year as a Program Advisor in the Center District, and been able to support all of our school sites. As a son of immigrant parents and a first-generation college student, I have seen the importance of education and what opportunities it can open for one’s future. It is an honor and privilege to work with middle and high school students to help them reach their educational goals. I aspire to help students by giving them opportunities that will help them be successful in their futures.
Karina Tinoco Martinez, She/Her/Hers
Program Advisor at Natomas High School
I am a Mexican/American, first generation college graduate and a Mother of a precious baby boy. I have been an advisor with TRIO ETS for over 2 years now. I started off working at Natomas MS and then transitioned to Natomas HS. I hold a Bachelor’s in Arts from California State University, Monterey Bay in Social Behavioral Science with a concentration in Sociology. I have worked with TRIO programs for more than 5 years now. As a college student, I was a TRIO participant as well and if it weren’t for TRIO and the staff I wouldn’t be where I am Today. I am extremely thankful for the support and guidance that was given to me and now I would like to give that back to students. I want students to understand they have options, and anything is possible as long as they don’t give up and put in the work to make it happen. I want to see all students succeed in their personal goals! Let’s work together to make that happen!
