Before You Apply
Important First Steps
The EOP&S and CARE Program has two open application periods during the academic year: June/July for Fall term participation and mid-November for Spring term participation. The application period is generally open for approximately 4-5 weeks.
When the application period is not open, interested students are encouraged to complete the “Application Interest Form” to be included on the program’s email list. Students who complete the interest form will be notified first when the application opens up for the next open application period.
The following steps are important first steps to review and complete before applying to the ARC EOP&S and CARE Programs:
- Review the EOP&S Program Eligibility section to ensure you are eligible.
- Review the Mutual Responsibility Agreements, as these are very important for your successful participation in EOP&S and CARE Programs.
- Apply to ARC and receive a Los Rios student ID# if you do not already have one.
- Apply for Financial Aid and designate ARC as your home college.
- Apply for the California College Promise Grant (CCPG) for American River College.
- If you are new to the college, please review the ARC Placement information and the process for placements.
- Be ready to upload a copy of your Student Ed Plan for at least one semester, including the term you plan to participate and showing a plan to enroll in a minimum of 12 units for your first term in the program.
- ARC students can meet with a general Counselor or an EOP&S Counselor to create an education plan showing a plan to enroll in at least 12 units for the semester you are applying for EOP&S and CARE participation.
- Be ready to upload unofficial high school transcripts (if necessary to show a GPA of 2.49 or below)
- Be ready to upload unofficial transcripts from any other colleges you have attended outside of Los Rios (NOTE: you are also advised to send official transcripts to the Admissions Office for official course transfer evaluations)
