If you do not have access to food, clothing, housing, technology, or other basic needs as a result of COVID-19 closures, then we are here to connect you with college or community resources.

CARES Act Funds for Students

The federal CARES Act includes support for higher education institutions to help address impacts on our students. Check your Message Center eServices message center to learn how to increase your chances of receiving these funds. You can also learn about CARES Act at American River College, Assistance for American Workers and Families, or Economic Stimulus Checks.

Services and Resources

Many students experience homeless or unsafe housing conditions.  To meet this need, and by the gift of gracious donors, we offer a short-term hotel voucher system and then additional support to help students secure long-term housing.

On-Campus Food Pantry

We offer a wide variety of non-perishable food items for our students.  Resources are first come, first serve and can be accessed on-campus during our business hours.  All students are welcome!

Drive-Thru Monthly Food Distribution

All students are welcome.

Each month, we offer a drive-thru food distribution offering boxed non-perishable food items as well as free produce items.  Sign-up to participate

Diaper and Baby Needs Pantry

We will launch our first ever “Baby Beavers” Diaper and Baby food Pantry on campus. This resource will be for our low-income student parents who need assistance with diapers, diaper wipes, baby food and more.

Nutritional Education Series

Want to learn how to maximize your grocery budget? 

In collaboration with CalWorks and our Culinary Department, we offer a fun and informative nutritional education course via Canvas complete with a live cooking demonstration each month. 

Participants learn how to make simple dishes, on a budget, kitchen tips and tricks and basic nutrition information. 

Students who complete the assignments each month receive free cookware and other kitchen tools.

Financial Wellness Series: Coming Soon!

We will be offering a 4-month Canvas-based series this Spring Semester in partnership with Safe Credit Union, Dave Ramsey Foundation and other experts to bring workshops around credit building and repair, debt relief, budgeting and more!
