Evangelisti Culinary Arts Center
The ARC Evangelisti Culinary Arts Center is a 19,000 square-foot facility that opened in the fall of 2014. The project cost $10 million and more than doubled the teaching capacity to enable 100 more students to enroll each semester. The program is home to the student-run Oak Café .
The Oak Café Bakery is a student-run operation with proceeds supporting the program. The menu varies but typically includes coffee and tea, breakfast pastries, cookies/desserts, and lunch choices (like stuffed potatoes, single-serving pizzas, and quiche).
Dr. Fred and Molly Evangelisti are passionate supporters of education and healthcare in the Sacramento region, and longtime friends and supporters of American River College.
American River College has long benefited from the leadership and philanthropy of Dr. Fred and Molly Evangelisti.
Molly served on the college's capital campaign team to construct the new culinary arts building, created a successful event she named "Forks & Corks" that was held three times: once during the kick-off of the capital campaign, again during the ground-breaking for the building and, finally, for its grand opening. Molly served on the ARC Foundation board for seven years and either chaired the annual gala committee for the foundation's annual fundraising event, "Autumn Gold," or was a very active participant.

Fred has served as a member of the ARC faculty for over 25 years, serving as the Electronics Department chair for 11 of those years. Fred was also awarded Instructor of the year in 2006 by the ARC Associated Student Association and has supported a scholarship program for electronics students for many years. Fred is also a proud ARC alumnus. Given that both their backgrounds are in education, the Evangelistis have dedicated a significant amount of their philanthropy to supporting students and the teaching and learning environment. The Evangelistis donated generously to the Culinary Campaign and the building is named in their honor.
