Beaver Scholars Distinguished Homebase Academic Awards
American River College produces top notch graduates who transfer and land great jobs. Through the Beaver Scholars program, two high achieving students are selected each January as recipients of the Beaver Scholars Distinguished Homebase Academic Awards.
Dam Best Beaver: Award recipients must have completed at least 45 units and be transferring in the upcoming fall semester. Student receives a $5,000 award.
Beaver of Excellence: Award recipient must have completed at least 15 units and be continuing at ARC. Student receives a $2500 award.
Students must complete an application explaining their college and career goals, obtain a letter of recommendation and provide a resume. The Homebase committee will use the following criteria for selection of recipients:
- High GPA
- Academically well-rounded transcript
- Extracurricular participation in athletics, clubs, student government, MESA, Beacon tutor, Design
- Hub intern, etc.
- Evidence of qualities of judgment, ingenuity, initiative, and broad interest
- Participation or interest in public service or volunteering
- Participated in a student research project.
