Head Coach - Ashlie Hain

Head Coach, Ashlie Hain

Ashlie comes to ARC from Southern California. She competed and started all 4 years at University of California, Irvine, in the Big West Conference as a setter. She was Captain of the UC Irvine Women's Volleyball team in 2004-2005 that made back to back NCAA appearances for the first time in school history and was voted into the Top 25 under Head Coach Charlie Brande. She holds Career and Season Records in Assists at UC Irvine. She was #1 in the Big West conference for career assist average and on the Waikiki Beach Invitational All-Tournament Team hosted by the University of Hawaii.

While playing for the Anteaters, she was honored by the Alumni Association as the Lauds and Laurels Student-Athlete of the Year in 2005. She was also on Big West Academic Team all four years. While living in Newport Beach, Ashlie coached for Orange County Volleyball Club where she coached current USC volleyball player Kirby Burnham and UCLA player Maddie Smith. She instructed and led Balboa Bay Volleyball Clinics for Charlie Brande.  

Ashlie graduated with Psychology Major and Management Minor. After graduation, she received a job offer to play professionally in Stuttgart, Germany for "TSV Allianz".  The team finished second in the league during the 2005-2006 season, playing teams throughout Germany, Switzerland and Austria. She continued her professional career the following season for a team in Split, Croatia, "Kastela Dalciemente." Ashlie was the starting setter for both teams. Her team placed 2nd in the Croatian 1st League in 2006-2007, advancing the club to Champion's Interleague. She has played with and against numerous national team players from both Europe and the United States.

Ashlie coached over 30 volleyball camps for All-American Inc. for Varsity volleyball teams all over the United States. She has run camps and clinics at the University of California, Irvine and Pepperdine University. Upon returning to Ventura County in 2000, Ashlie began coaching for the Women's Volleyball Team at Moorpark College and coached for Sport Shack Volleyball Club in 2008. 

She earned her Master's Degree in Coaching and Physical Education at Azusa Pacific University. She was an instructor and coach at Moorpark College in 2007 & 2008. While at Moorpark the team was ranked 4th in the state most of the year and went undefeated in Conference play.

Before her collegiate and professional career, Ashlie graduated from La Reina High School in Thousand Oaks, California. She was Captain of the 2001 CIF Championship and State Finalist Team. She played for Sport Shack Volleyball Club on their first ever Championship 16's and 18's Team. Throughout her junior playing career she was trained by current Santa Clara Head Coach, Jon Wallace, Pepperdine coach Tim Jensen, Texas Head Coach Jeritt Elliot, and USC coach Tim Nollan.

Ashlie was hired at American River College as Head Women's Volleyball Coach beginning Spring 2009.

In her first season at American River College the program improved to an overall record of 11-16 from the previous seasons overall record of 3-23. The team moved up to the 6th spot in the conference after being 8th the in 2007-2008. The team was led by Big 8 First Team selection Josie Parkison. Ashlie comments, "Our program will continue to go in a positive direction; Our goal is to become the premier JC for Women's Volleyball in Northern California."

During Spring 2010 Hain coached for Force Volleyball Club 18's team and worked with many athletes who went on to top Division 1 colleges.

During her second year at ARC the program continued to improve as they closed out the season 19-11. They finished in the Top 8 of Northern California, and had 3 players earning All-Conference honors.

Three athletes continued on to play at D1 and NAIA colleges. In the springtime, Ashlie coached Force 18-1's team with Coach Alynn Wright where their team earned an Open bid to the Junior Olympics and all athletes continuing on to play intercollegiate volleyball.

Hain on Coaching: "I look forward to going to work every day! I love talking with these young women and teaching them to maximize their potential as an athlete, student and human being.  We believe in working hard for results, showing character when faced with challenges and representing our program with class. We hold our athletes and ourselves to the highest standard of conduct and take pride in our athlete's academic and athletic success."

Assistant Coach - Casilia Loessberg

Assistant Coach, Cassie Loessbert 

Casilia Loessberg -  is  in her first year as an assistant at American River College. She played NCAA Division 1 Volleyball at University of Miami as team captain from 2006-2010. While there she majored in Criminology with a minor in Psychology. In 2009 Cassie was recognized as one of the top liberos in the nation, earning All-American Honors. During her time at University of Miami, Cassie joined the US Marine Core and still maintains her position today as a Corporal of the Marines. She now competes for the All Armed Forces Team. In addition to this experience, she coached for South Florida Volleyball Club and has also held several positions in strength and conditioning for a variety of athletes.

 

Cassie is from Sacramento and competed for the nationally ranked St. Francis High School Team where she was a standout athlete.

 

 

Cassie has earned a variety of awards and recognition for her athletic, academic and professional achievements. Some of her honors include:
