916-484-8201

Greg Warzecka has served as Dean of Kinesiology and Athletics since July 1, 2012. He retired from the University of California in June 2011 after serving as the Director of Athletics at UC Davis for 16 years. Warzecka has been actively involved in college athletics for over 30 years. He is one of just a few individuals who have served as a coach and athletics director in all three divisions of the NCAA.

During his tenure at UC Davis, the athletics department won six NACDA Division II Director's Cups, which recognize the most successful intercollegiate athletic program in the nation within each NCAA division. In 1999, and again in 2000, Sports Illustrated For Women ranked UC Davis the #1 Division II athletic program in the nation for women. One year later, SI selected UC Davis as its top Division II school for 2001-02. For his part, Warzecka was selected as Athletics Director of the Year for the NCAA D-II West Region in 2001-02.

Before turning to administration, Warzecka had been a successful baseball coach, first as an assistant at his alma mater, UC Berkeley. He then served as head coach at San Francisco State University, then at the University of Chicago, where he also served his first administrative post as Director of Men's Athletics and Assistant Chair of Physical Education. Warzecka returned to California in 1990 to become the Director of Physical Education and Athletics at the University of Redlands where he supervised the teaching and curriculum development of a Physical Education minor and a 19-sport men’s and women’s athletics program. In August 1995, he was named Director of Athletics at UC Davis.

Warzecka received his Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education from UC Berkeley, and a Master of Science degree in athletic administration from California State University, Hayward. He is a graduate of the NACDA Management Institute and the University of California Management Institute. He is a member of the Citrus College Baseball Hall of Fame.

Coach Tami Wooden has been with ARC Football since our 2007 season as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. She holds a BS in Exercise Physiology, MS in Educational Counseling and an MA in Sport Science. Tami holds certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA-1992) and USA Weight Lifting (1994), and keeps current in the field including corrective exercise. Along with coaching, she has been an adjunct professor at ARC since 1996 with stints as a full time Strength and Conditioning Coach at New Mexico State University, University of the Pacific (when they still had football), and Allen High School north of Dallas, Texas. Tami’s passion of helping others be their best in sports and life stems from her own athletic endeavors as a body builder/power lifter, tennis player at the University of Arkansas, and competing at an international level of fast pitch softball as a centerfielder through high school…and probably growing up in a family of coaches, teachers and athletes. Be strong... stay strong…be a role model...Get er done!!
