Bo Jabery-Madison has been the head coach for the American River College men’s tennis team for ten years. In that time, the team has compiled a record of 131-24 with four conference titles. The team has qualified for the playoffs in each season and has finished in the top ten in the state rankings seven times. In 2014 the team had a 15-3 record, won the conference title outright, reached the Northern California team playoff final, and finished as the fifth ranked team in the state. In addition to the on-court success, the American River men’s tennis team has won the men’s tennis state team G.P.A. award three times (2008, 2009, 2010) and has consistently transferred players on to four-year institutions on athletic and academic scholarships.

Bo was born in Sacramento and grew up in nearby Carmichael. He competed for the men’s tennis team at ARC in 1997 (for Ralph Freund) and 1999 (for Greg Anderson). He made All-Conference First Team in both seasons, was chosen as team MVP in 1997, and won the conference doubles title in 1999. After his time at ARC he transferred to UC Davis, where he competed for the Aggies in 2000 and 2001. He made the scholar-athlete list in both seasons and in 2001 he was recognized as the team’s Most Inspirational Player. Bo remains active in tournament and league play. He has reached a twelve-month ranking of #19 in singles and #16 in individual doubles in the Northern California open division.
