Jerry Haflich |
Introduction:
In 2011 & 2010 Coach Haflich earned “Coach of the Year Awards” as the Mid-Empire Coach of the Year, and the Central
Division Coach of the Year. In the 2011 season the ARC Football Team finished with an 11-0 record, ranked 5th in California and 7th Nationally (by JC
Gidiron Dirty 30). In the 2010 season, the ARC Football Team finished with a 10-1 record, ranked 3rd in Northern California. Jerry has
completed his 5th year as the American River College Head Football Coach and most recently led the ARC Football Team to back-to-back Mid-Empire
and Central Division Championships. The 2011 program has six Division I prospects awaiting offers and official visits along with other potential scholarships
to athletes at the Division II and NAIA levels. The 2010 Coaching Staff combined efforts with Coach Haflich to place 19 of the 2010 Football Team members
in four-year colleges on football scholarships.
Head Football Coach:
During his 5 years as ARC Head Football Coach, Coach Haflich has participated in three bowl teams. He has made three bowl appearances, the Hawaiian Punch
Bowl (2009), the Central Division Championship Bowl (2010), and the Capital City Bowl (2011), posting bowl victories in 2010 & 2011. As Head Football Coach,
Jerry has posted a 36-17 record.
Defensive Coordinator:
During his 12 years at ARC, Coach Haflich has participated in 5 Bowl appearances. As defensive coordinator (2000-2007 & 2010), Jerry coached in the Santa Cruz
Bowl (2000) and the Capital City Shrine Bowl (2005), he lead the defense in 2005 to a #1 ranking in the State. Student Athlete Placement: Seven All-Americans
- Jarrett Bush (DB), Utah State University, Green Bay Packers (NFL); Coye Francies (DB), Oregon State University, Cleveland Browns (NFL); Brad Langley (Punter),
University Nevada-Reno; Casey Griffiths (OL), UCLA; Cortez Woods (DL), University Nevada-Reno; Connor Rains (OL), University of Wyoming; and Terry Easman (LB),
Western Michigan University. From 2007-2010 Jerry has placed 68 players at four year institutions from American River College. See

Honors:
Inducted into the Ventura College Hall of Fame (2011); inducted into the Ventura County Sports Hall of Fame (1997); inducted into the Sacramento
State Football Hall of Fame (1996); named football team captain at Sacramento State University and All-Conference Football Team (1982); and
named to the California All-State Team, linebacker (1980).
Family:
Jerry and his wife, Rosanne, of 25 years have three children, Whitney (21), Nicolette (19), and Garrett (18).
